If you suffer from respiratory disease, should you always wear a mask?

The use of a mask has become common since the arrival of Covid-19; however, people with breathing difficulties must take certain things. Under what conditions should you always wear a mask?

Respiratory diseases affect the lungs and other parts of the respiratory system, causing infections due to tobacco consumption,  viruses or bacteria, exposure to radon, asbestos, or other forms of air pollution. Usually, people who suffer from these difficulties have asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and other diseases.

Should patients with respiratory diseases always wear a mask?

This one is a question that many are currently asking; since with Covid-19 and the climate change that exists, getting sick has become more frequent. So, people who suffer from respiratory disease should use the mask without opposition to protect themselves against any virus and infection.

If a person suffers from shortness of breath or a sensation of shortness of breath when putting on the mask. Most likely, they should limit their activity in outdoor areas

Some experts recommend not using it; to prevent asthma attacks or exacerbations of COPD  or other respiratory diseases. A supposed increase in inspiratory pressures through a mask is unfounded.

How should I use the mask in this scenario?

The use of the mask is mandatory when you are in a public place, and traveling by plane, bus, train, or other public transportation to, in, or out of the United States. The masks have measures for their use; it depends on each one which best suits your lifestyle.

When you wear a mask, you protect yourself and others. The Masks do NOT replace the practice of social distancing. In addition, they should use with a distance of at least 6 feet. Especially in closed spaces surrounded by people with whom you do not live.

Masks should completely cover the nose and mouth and fit tightly against the sides of the face without forming gaps. Children 2 to 5 years of age should wear face masks in public settings because they have developing immune systems that are not fully strong. A person with a disability who cannot use a mask must take much more care of their health since it would imply some risk type.
